I don’t get why people say they’re on a specific “diet”. It gives a feeling of it being temporary. Of course, it should keep changing depending on the new(sometimes very old) things you find out. I like to call it my lifestyle! This is one of my family’s go-to shake recipes because we all love chikoo so much, and it is the magic in this recipe. The crunchy texture of this fruit is so unique.
Ingredients:
1 cup chikoo, roughly chopped
3/4 cup whole milk or yoghurt
2 egg yolks* (optional)
1 scoop whey protein powder, unflavored (grass-fed preferred)
1/2 tsp green cardamom powder, freshly ground
ice cubes(optional)
Method:
In a blending jar, add whole milk or yoghurt(not sour), fresh egg yolks, unflavored whey protein powder, ice and cardamom. Blend well.
Add sapota(chikoo) pieces to the blender and pulse a few times. You can blend it all the way, but I like little fruit pieces in the shake. Consume chilled and immediately.
Note:
You can skip adding egg yolks, if you don’t prefer it or add up to 3 in this recipe.
If you’re trying this out with eggs for the first time and are not sure if you’ll like the taste, start with one yolk. Add a drop or two of vanilla extract to make sure the smell is masked, cardamom should be enough though.
If milk, chikoo and eggs are chilled, you can skip ice.
Always use fresh, pasture raised eggs bought from a reliable source when consuming raw.
You can reduce the quantity of milk to 1/2 cup.
